Incorporate Your Company

Look up your Corporation or LLC online through your Secretary of State to ensure it’s status is “Active” or “Good Standing” and the physical address listed online is correct.

IMPORTANT QUESTION BEFORE YOU PROCEED:Is your corporation in the state that you are in? For instance, are you in California, and you have a California corporation? If your corporation IS in the state that YOU are in, then proceed below. If it is not (for instance, you are in California, but your corporation is in Nevada, or you are in Florida, but your corporation is in Delaware), then click here for foreign entity information.

As long as you are physically in the same state that your Corporation or LLC is located in, then keep reading. Each time you fill out a credit application, an underwriter will perform a search to verify information.
If (1) they cannot find your company via search (2) your company is not Active or in Good Standing or (3) the address you list for your company on applications doesn’t match the address on file with the Secretary of State your applications will be denied.

We will show you how to do the same check that underwriters do.

Once you’ve gotten a business phone line (that shows up as a landline that is listed in 411), you’ll need to update your D&B records, D&B has on file whatever phone number you gave them originally. You’ll need to update that record to reflect this new business phone number. Everything needs to match. When you are applying for credit in steps 4 and 5, you’ll want your business phone number to be this land line phone – NOT any other phone number. Click here to see how to update your D&B information.

If you have any trouble getting your number listed through listyourself.net, then read this page for additional suggestions on getting your number listed.
